Access to the Technical Notes is based on a search key which
you normally define through the documentation menu.
The only possible search key for the Workshop Repair Manuals is
the technical context. However, in the case of the Technical Notes,
              the options are broader (recent notes, systematic recalls, etc.;
              see the section headed Selecting
              the Technical Notes)
The program makes up the list of all the documents relating to
this search key and filters it depending on the current vehicle
before displaying it to the user.
This is possible because the application conditions are
assigned to each of the documents. These application conditions
are defined in index of the SITERE Documentation database for the
Technical Notes. They use a small number of technical specifications
of the vehicle (model, type of engine, gearbox type and, for the
              Technical Notes, production number).
What happens if a user gives only a partial definition of the
              vehicle?
Once it has made up the list of all documents matching the search
key, Dialogys turns to analysing the application conditions of each
of the documents found. If, for a document, a technical specification
of the vehicle required for determining the relevance of the document
to the vehicle is missing, Dialogys prompts the user to enter the
              specification.
If the user does not respond, the document is retained in the final
list, along with all the documents which depend on the technical
specification concerned: the list supplied is therefore the list
of all documents which might be relevant to the vehicle thus defined.
If the user responds, the analysis can be carried out with all
the accuracy required. If the user replies to all the questions
given by Dialogys, he will obtain the list of all the documents
which are actually relevant to the vehicle defined.
Therefore, the better the vehicle is documented, the more precise
the selection will be (and the shorter the list).
