9.3.1      Using the FI function

●    Click in the “FI-Search” input field in the model overview or the IT view.

●    Enter the required VIN and choose ENTER.

●    Open the pull-down menu by clicking on the small triangle.

●    Drag the cursor onto the required, previously stored VIN and click on it.

>    The last 20 VINs entered by you are stored in the pull-down menu. If you enter additional VINs, the last VINs in the list are overwritten.

>    If the data for the selected VIN already exists, the car data for the VIN being searched for is displayed in the “car identification” window.

●    Click on INFO in the “car identification” window to display the FI information sorted by PR-Numbers. The “Car data” window, which contains all the available FI information, is displayed.

●    Click on the “Country codes”, “Other”, “EC overview” or “TC overview” tabs if you want to view the corresponding information.

>    Information on the equipment, the roof/body colour (with a 3-digit paint code) and the production date is displayed in the “Other” overview.

●    Click on BACK if you want to close the “Car data” window again.

>    The FI function is not active at this display level. All the information contained has the same display hierarchy.

>    If the data for the selected VIN is not available, the “Internet” window opens, if applicable.

●    Click on CONTINUE. The “Download” message shows that the car data is being downloaded.

>    If a user name and password are required for transferring data from the Internet, the Internet logon window opens automatically. For general use authorisation, the user name and the password must be entered in the INI Editor <see “INI Editor”>.

When the “You can close your internet session!” message appears, click on the CONTINUE button. The car data for the VIN you are searching for is now displayed in the “car identification” window. If you click on INFO, you can display the car-specific PR-Numbers, Country codes, EC and TC overviews and other information.

>    If “S” numbers are contained inside the PR numbers, this is indicated by an S icon at the bottom right of the “car identification” window. 

>    Please note the special features of existing S-PR-Numbers. There may be deviations between the existing construction status and the construction status documented in the original parts catalogue. 

>    If car identification is not possible because of incomplete car data, the following message appears: FI: CAR DATA INCOMPLETE! 

>    In the “car identification” window, check the “Engine code”, “Transmission code”, “Interior trim code”, “Roof color” and “Exterior color” entries. 

>    If one of these lines of data is incorrect or incomplete, you must enter the missing data (e.g. transmission code) or correct the incorrect data. 

●    Click on EDIT to change or enter the relevant data.

>    The background colour of the display fields changes and they can now be edited.

●    Enter the missing data or correct the entries.

●    Click on SAVE.

>    All manually entered data is displayed in red.

●    To delete, click on RESET.

>    If you click on SAVE and the message “Transmission or engine code not found!” appears, the manual entry is incorrect.

●    In the “Error” window, click on OK. The “Sales types” window opens with a pull-down menu for selecting the possible engine and transmission codes.

●    In the pull-down menu, select the required codes.

●    Click on OK.

>    If car data has been entered or changed manually, this is shown at the bottom of the IT view by the red icon .
