Some of the ETKA functions provided are dependent on the settings in the INI Editor and the factory settings.
> We recommend that you record the data for your personal ETKA configuration for each brand and keep it in a safe place.
● Click on INI-EDITOR to open the INI Editor.
In the following screenshot, the “Connections in general” menu in the Communication area has been opened in the INI Editor:
> After you have made all the changes or settings, you must click on STORE before exiting the INI Editor again by choosing EXIT.
Settings can be made in the following areas:
The following functions are configured/activated here:
- Price update via the Internet, LAN/WAN or data carrier (drive).
- Accessory price updates via the Internet, LAN/WAN or data carrier (drive).
- Data update via the Internet, LAN/WAN or data carrier (drive).
- Update intervals for automatic updates via the Internet or LAN/WAN.
- Activation of general default settings.
- Activation of the VS-Gate, DMS-BackBone, XDTI or DTI connection.
- Activation of the WERA-U/WERA-Q connection.
- Activation of the Edit NORA order form function (e.g. eParts and partslink24).
> To display the manufacturer prices in parts information, you require Version 7.95 or higher with VS-Gate or DMS-BackBone for the VAUDIS connection. If the “Show dealer prices also” function is activated, the “Calculate new prices” function in maintenance is deactivated.
> If you activate the “Transmit brief texts to DMS” function, you can integrate a special 10-digit short text when transferring an order form or creating a new spare part. If no short text is available for a part number, the first line of the name is abbreviated to ten characters.
> If you activate the “OT order service” function on ETS or at workstations with a CD-ROM installation, the depot order form logic is suppressed. At fat- or thin-client workstations, you do not have to make any settings because these retrieve configuration information from ETS.
> If you click on STORE, the configuration data you entered is stored.
> If you click on EXIT, the “INI-Editor” window is closed again.
- Activation of the automatic Internet connection.
- Activation of the FI function and specification of the storage location for the car data retrieved via the Internet.
- Activation or deactivation of the ServiceNet messaging function*.
- Create or delete accessories by parts group with factors.
- Set the system date and system time.
- General system settings (e.g. presetting the VAT rate).
